Championship golf, mountain trails, spring training, resort-style amenities, and a dining scene that keeps growing. This is what it means to live in the West Valley of Phoenix.
The West Valley of Phoenix is home to some of Arizona's finest golf courses — from the three championship courses at the Wigwam to Verrado's 36 holes in the foothills of the White Tanks.
Thirty-six holes across two courses, Founders and Victory, set right up against the White Tank Mountains. Both are open to public play, and the mountain views on the back nines are the real deal.
Verrado Golf Club's second course, designed by Tom Lehman, sits alongside Victory, Verrado's 55+ neighborhood. It's open to public play, with big elevation changes and long views across the valley.
Three championship courses (Gold, Blue and Red) at the historic Wigwam in Litchfield Park. Golfers have been coming here for generations, and the resort's dining and spa make it an easy day out even for non-golfers.
One of Goodyear's premier courses with a stunning layout, excellent facilities, and some of the best conditions in the West Valley of Phoenix. Perfect for golfers of all skill levels.
The West Valley of Phoenix's desert landscape is a natural playground — from mountain hikes to lake activities, there's always something to explore.
Just minutes from Verrado, this roughly 30,000-acre county park has miles of trails, petroglyphs along the Waterfall Trail, wildlife watching, and some of the best sunsets in Arizona.
Miles of trails and paths connect Verrado's neighborhoods, parks, and open spaces, so biking, running, and walking start right outside your door.
Estrella in Goodyear is built around community lakes with kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing, and waterfront events. Lake life in the desert is rare, and Estrella does it well.
Verrado's Heritage Swim Park and the community pools across the West Valley's master-planned neighborhoods bring resort-style swimming, splash pads, and fitness centers close to home.
From Verrado's charming Main Street to growing restaurant scenes across Goodyear and Buckeye — the West Valley of Phoenix's food and retail landscape is thriving.
The West Valley is served by several districts, and the right one depends on the exact address. Here's a starting point. I always confirm school boundaries for a specific home before you write an offer.
Serves Litchfield Park and parts of Goodyear and Avondale, with deep community roots going back to Litchfield Park's founding.
Covers much of Goodyear, Litchfield Park, Avondale, and Verrado, with campuses including Verrado High (Go Vipers! 🐍), Millennium, Desert Edge, Agua Fria, and Canyon View.
Serves much of Buckeye and southern Goodyear, including Buckeye Union, Youngker, and Estrella Foothills high schools.
It depends on where you land. Litchfield Park and Goodyear are roughly 25–35 minutes from downtown Phoenix via I-10, and Verrado in Buckeye is closer to 40–45 minutes. Traffic on I-10 at rush hour can add time, so I always suggest test-driving your commute before you buy.
The Wigwam in Litchfield Park has three championship courses (Gold, Blue and Red). Verrado Golf Club in Buckeye has 36 holes across its Founders and Victory courses, both open to the public. Palm Valley in Goodyear rounds out the list of local favorites.
White Tank Mountain Regional Park, next to Verrado, covers roughly 30,000 acres and has the Waterfall Trail with its petroglyphs. Estrella Mountain Regional Park in Goodyear is the other go-to, with trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding.
Yes, and it's one of the best perks of living here. Goodyear Ballpark hosts the Cleveland Guardians and Cincinnati Reds, Camelback Ranch in Glendale hosts the Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago White Sox, and Surprise Stadium hosts the Texas Rangers and Kansas City Royals.
It depends on the exact address, because boundaries don't always follow city lines. Litchfield Elementary, Agua Fria Union High School District, and Buckeye Union High School District cover much of the area. I check boundaries for every home before you write an offer.
